Improving teacher quality in America’s public schools is a complex problem that demands multi-pronged solutions. That’s why The New Teacher Project takes on this challenge from so many angles. Today, we are not only recruiting and training outstanding career changers and recent graduates to become teachers, but also exploring new methods of teacher certification, working directly with low-performing schools to improve teacher hiring, and changing the policies that keep schools from finding and keeping the best teachers.

At The New Teacher Project, your work will affect the futures of millions of disadvantaged children. On any given day, TNTP employees are finding great teachers for low-income students, innovating new methods of teacher preparation, and gathering hard data on the effects of long-ignored policies on students, teachers and schools. Since 1997, the more than 33,000 teachers hired and trained by TNTP staff have touched the lives of an estimated 4.8 million students, while TNTP’s research has triggered a wave of reform.
